Hi,
My name is John Paullus (-Holireels-). I am employed full time as a Mechanical Engineer (Oregon State Grad) and work for Daimler Trucks North America in Portland, Oregon. We make the Freightliner, Westernstar, and Thomas Built trucks and school buses that carry freight and children everyday. I have two kids, a girlfriend, and a chocolate lab that keep me pretty busy. When I get free time, I'm chasing trout, salmon, and steelhead throughout Oregon and Washington state. I like all types of fishing, but love fly fishing the most. My other hobby is metal working.

Starting in 2010, I plan on starting a small side business called (-Holireels-). I will be making several styles of traditionally styled reels. My current plan is to offer a Vom Hofe style reel in both trout and salmon sizes, my version of the Leonard Beaverkill and early Fairy raised pillar reels in trout sizes, and finally my own raised pillar design in both trout and salmon/steelhead size.
